Setting up External Forwarding
Audience – Tier 2
Description:
If a user requests that a Mirum email be forwarded to an external email this is the process to follow.
Procedure:
- Find out the business reason for the forwarding.
- If the request is for a M365 Group or Distribution list we will need approval from the owner.
- Escalate to the Tier 2 team.
- Tier 2 team will open https://security.microsoft.com/antispam?tid=a1989840-3eb8-419d-a5a2-fc575c0bbb23 and click “Mirum - Allow Outbound Forwarding”
- Scroll to the bottom of the “Users, groups, and domains” section and click “edit users, groups, and domains”
- At the top you will see the “user” search bar, search for the user and click the contact that populates to add them to the group. Click save at the bottom when you are done.
- If you need to allow a group to forward scroll to the bottom of the “edit users, groups, and domains” window and use the “groups” search bar, click the contact that populates, and save.
- T2 will let the end-user know the request is complete.
