Adding an external user to a DL or shared mailbox-
Audience – Tier 1, Tier 2, DEPOT, Cloud
Description :
How to add an external user:
Procedure:
- Launch https://admin.exchange.microsoft.com
- On the left hand side click Contacts under the Recipients listing
- Click add a contact at the top of the screen
- Change Contact type from mail user to mail contact and fill in the name, email, and company (if you have it)
Now you should be able to edit the DL/Mailbox and when searching the newly added contact should populate as an option to pick.
Escalation:
If escalation is necessary, please escalate to Tier 2 as first POC, if Tier 2 is unavailable please escalate to SME.
If neither the Tier 2 or SME is NOT available and issue is urgent, escalate to Sam Li.
